Natural Wonders

THE MIGHTY MISSISSIPPI borders the eastern side of Pike County and features two unique riverfront communities, Louisiana and Clarksville.  Well known for their historic charm and splendid architecture, they also offer beautiful riverfront parks for scenic viewing.  Picnic tables and ample parking are available.

LOCK & DAM #24, located at Clarksville, is a favorite fishing spot for bald eagles during colder winter months and an excellent place to view barges and river traffic during warmer months.  Often eagles can be seen perched in trees along the river near the dam or catching fish below the dam.
