Clarksville Museum

CLARKSVILLE MUSEUM, located on Hwy. 79, which is also known as the Great River Road and is a State Scenic Byway.  There are many artifacts and documents on display reflecting the early history of the farm, the river, the community, and the home.  The Museum is open from Memorial Day to November.  Special Tours may be arranged.  For more information, call 573.242.3267.

Louisiana Area Historical Museum

LOUISIANA AREA HISTORICAL MUSEUM is located at 304 Georgia Street, Louisiana in the Georgia Street Historic District.  This building and the others located along Georgia Street form Main Street to 7th Street are listed on the National Register of Historic Places and make up the most intact Victorian Streetscape in the state of Missouri.  The museum contains books, magazines, antique photos, vintage clothing, century-old artifacts as well as displays of the famous Stark Brothers Nursery founded in 1816, and at one time the largest mail-order nursery company in the world.  The Hercules Room displays true-to-life models of the famous Hercules company's plant located in Louisiana.  Currently closed for renovation.   Call 573.754.4443 for more information.
